Healthcare studies were established almost two decades ago in Miskolc. The Faculty of Healthcare has started a new chapter in healthcare education by becoming part of a university that encompasses almost every area of studies. Our Faculty trains healthcare professionals in prevention, diagnostic imaging, rehabilitation and health tourism.
Our mission is to retain young people in the area by helping the professionals trained at our faculty to find employment in our region and utilise their knowledge here.
The high quality of our courses is guaranteed by the medical doctors serving also as teaching staff and by acknowledged educators holding PhD degrees in scientific fields of healthcare and other interdisciplinary areas.
We achieve our educational tasks in cooperation with the other Faculties of the University of Miskolc, the University of Debrecen’s Medical and Health Science Centre, the County and Teaching Hospital of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén (our Faculty’s teaching hospital), and regional health institutions and professional organisations in order to provide opportunities to adjust to the changing needs of the times and to advancements in healthcare.
The value system of healthcare training can be characterised by empathy towards others and a holistic approach that views people in the unity of their physical, psychological and social being. Based on the university traditions of Selmecbánya Academy, this value system is reflected in our salutation:
