Ecology, environmental protection and nature protection
- contact hours/week: 2
- assesment of studies: exam
- credits: 5
ETAET6068E
Tutor: Adrienn Juhász SZALAI Dr., associate professor/ Department of Human Biology
The aim and purpose of the course: Ecology is studying the relationships between living creatures and their natural environment. The class first introduces to the scope of ecology and biogeography with a focus on the distribution of plant and animal species. Students learn about the different ecosystems, terrestrial and aquatic biomes, as well as the relationship among different populations in the communities. In addition, students will learn about practical opportunities and methods for protecting nature and the environment.
NEUROANATOMY
- contact hours/week: 2+1
- assesment of studies: exam
- credits: 5
ETAET6234
Tutor: Tamas TOMPA Dr., associate professor/ Department of Preventive Health Care
The course offers a basic introduction to the structure of the human nervous system from the cellular up to the organ level. A special emphasis is on the cortical functional anatomy.
NEUROCHEMISTRY
- contact hours/week: 1+1
- assesment of studies: exam
- credits: 4
ETAET6238
Tutor: Tamas TOMPA Dr., associate professor/ Department of Preventive Health Care
An introductory course to the chemical properties of the human neural system. An overview of the nature, localization and functional significance of the main neurotransmitters, neuromodulators, receptors, with a system-level evaluation.
NEUROPSYCHOLOGY
- contact hours/week: 2+1
- assesment of studies: exam
- credits: 5
ETAET6239
Tutor: Tamas TOMPA Dr., associate professor/ Department of Preventive Health Care
The course introduces the neuronal bases of the human psychological phenomena. We’ll learn the elemental cellular processes on which all the functioning of the neural and muscular tissue are based, and build a view of the higher order mental functions on this very basis. An integral part of the curriculum is the detailed description of the lobe functions.
GENERAL PSYCHOLOGY
- contact hours/week: 1+1
- assesment of studies: exam
- credits: 4
ETAET6007
Tutor: Tamas TOMPA Dr., associate professor/ Department of Preventive Health Care
Survey course introducing modern psychology by presenting scientific and
humanistic interpretations of the human mind and behavior. Topics to be
covered are: biological bases of behavior, perception, motivation, thinking
and learning.
